She is a November child born in the land of vivid colors- India. She did her elementary studies at Guru Hargobind public school, Sidwan Khurd and later moved to Mumbai. It was the celluloid city where she completed her education. She was brilliant at academics. She was a good athlete and a basketball player. She was the captain of basketball team at school.

It was while at College midway that she was persuaded by friends and well wishers to compete in the Miss Bombay and Miss India contests and walked away with the title in the first and the Femina Miss India Beautiful Hair in the second. She was picked up by the advertising world and landed up with plush modeling assignments and became the spokesperson for Ponds Skin Care Products in India, UK and Egypt

Life took another beautiful turn while she was in school studying in 10th grade. She was noticed by director Manmohan Singh and writer Baldev Gill. They were looking for a young innocent girl to play the title role in the movie “Naseebo”. That was her first movie that she did while in school. Her first stint in acting turned out to be very successful, the movie was liked by one and all. In Canada and U.S., every Punjabi household had a copy of this movie.

Despite the success she was achieving in her modeling and film career, Kimi Verma was always clearheaded in what she wanted to do with her life . To her studies was key and throughout her academic career she remained at the top of the class . She moved to Los Angeles in 2002 and kept doing Punjabi movies while living in Los Angeles.

Kimi's dream became the reality she envisioned as a child about running a Global fashion house for women's dresses. She is the founder, designer and CEO of SHAIL K. women's special occasion dress brand. Shail K. dresses are sold in many countries around the globe including US, Canada, UK, Australia, Romania, Lebanon and many more.

Kimi works to empower women even as she pursues her entrepreneurial dreams by making sure that doors are opened for women and they have access to otherwise unavailable opportunities. Kimi K., Inc. employs an all-female staff here in the U.S. and only selects international manufacturers that can ensure that 65% of the workers who work on Shail K® products are women. Kimi is adamant that these factories are regularly inspected to ensure that they meet international labor and ethical standards. Kimi supports ‘Women’s Giving Circle’ – an organization dedicated to researching and funding programs that benefit the development and well-being of young women.

Kimi's vision in uniting her love for fashion and connecting it to her deep-rooteddesire to empower young women pushes the envelope and charts a socially conscious path for other young entrepreneurs.
